Working cooperative of Houses, sccl. It is already splits of the history of the Prat of Llobregat, since during the Dictatorship arrived to be one of the anti-francoist centres more important of the city, so much in his political appearance, and social or educational. Nowadays, it looks with optimism the new possibilities that offer him , in relation to Prat Nord and Prat Sud, the new widen of the Prat of the S.XXI.
Our past
Working cooperative of Houses was born of the need, by part of pratenses and migrant of the rest of Spain, to find a solution to the precariedad in the house. For this reason, they constituted in cooperative the 2 of September of 1962. Like cooperative no only solved the problem of the realquiler and semibarraquismo that existed by then in the Prat, but that thanks to the system asambleario and his Council Rector, finished for finding solutions to all the problems and challenges that posed and that to the Dictatorship did not interest him solve: education, training for adults, etc... All the world had fit, with special sensitivity to the disabled: New Strength, a cooperative linked to the Worker of Houses and that arrived to be pioneering to level of Spain (like this ascertained it the TVE of the years 60), was a workshop for disabled physicists that, between other things, created occupation. During this period, Cooperative founded other industrial cooperatives (complementos of the building like carpentry) and of consumption (Mueblecope and Telecope) and generated more than 140 places of work.
Likewise, the politics played a very important role: one of the main cores of resistance of the Prat grew to the amparo of Cooperative, with the assistance of more than 700 partners in general assemblies. The fact that the cooperative carry the name of Worker, already defines his political brink and syndicalist.
Our future
The 80 and 90 devoted to the management of our resources generated in previous decades. The aims of our partners already were assumed and were time no very favourable for the cooperativismo.
With a heritage more than important and an economy saneada, in these Cooperative moments encara the future with optimism. We are preparing the relief generacional creating new provision and services for our partners, are young or main. We have of a Social Centre of meeting and diverse activities. On the other hand, fomenta the emancipation of the youngsters by means of the building of new houses like the one of the street Gaiter of the Llobregat 68-70.
